On the bright side, I am averaging 34 mpg with a mix of about 30% city and 70% highway, and I am an assertive driver. The Soul is clearly a budget vehicle but at over $21,000 for a base model, I expected better. Voice commands are sluggish and overall the system can be glitchy and frustrating. Often times it has difficulty linking with my phone or it hijacks my phone and I can't use it for a period of time. Another disappointment was the blue tooth/infotainment center. The black plastic trim on the exterior is already starting to fade too. A major complaint is the low quality paint, it almost immediately suffered from swirls, scratches, and a general dullness … (avoid the Inferno Red). I own the 2022 LX model with the tech package (a $900 must have as it includes not only some nice rims but a bevy of safety features).
